Trade leaders of EU and ASEAN met for annual ministerial consultation, enthusiastic about strengthening EU-ASEAN engagement. They agreed to the next steps towards resumption of the ASEAN-EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations; reaffirmed commitment to the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference, with a focus on E-Commerce, creating new business opportunities; and more trade; interested in discussing the idea of a Multilateral Investment Court; agreed on Trade and Investment Work Programme for 2017-2018 focusing on issues that matter for an eventual deal; had a substantial discussion with the EU ASEAN Business Council.
