The first round of negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the EU and Indonesia were held in September in Brussels. Having concluded talks with Singapore and Vietnam and currently negotiating with Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, the EU is continuing efforts towards further region-to-region engagement. Economic Officials of both regions are also working on a stock taking exercise to evaluate next steps towards the possible resumption of the ASEAN-EU free trade negotiations.
