Two years ago, the EU-ASEAN Capacity Building Project for Monitoring Integration Progress and Statistics (COMPASS) sent six Statisticians from the National Statistical institutions of Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar to study at the University Diliman in Manila. In June, they received their Diploma of Master in Statistics. With this, COMPASS is about to achieve one its deliverables of access to formal higher education for CLMV Statisticians, in line with the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI). By improving CLMV countries’ human resources, this activity strengthens the ASEAN Community Statistical System (ACSS) and contributes to narrowing the development gap in the region. For more information, please see the COMPASS website.
