Europe and Asia are increasingly more inter-connected with more interdependent economies as ever – more goods and services are travelling between Europe and Asia than across the Atlantic. Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is a multilateral forum for informal dialogue and cooperation between Europe and Asia-Pacific countries that complements bilateral relations, as well as EU-ASEAN relations. This year’s biannual Summit in Mongolia commemorated the 20th Anniversary of ASEM. Leaders reviewed the progress made and committed to taking ASEM forward, promoting greater connectivity and more focused cooperation between Asia and Europe.
