July 15, 2016 Comments (0) ASEAN, Economic & Trade, EU-ASEAN News

The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines is the first ASEAN IP Office to launch a new electronic filing system for trademark applications, called the ASEAN eTMfile. This new system, developed in collaboration with the EU-ASEAN Project on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (ECAP III), allows an online filing of new trademarks and the submission of documents, such as special power of attorney, request for priority examination, or declaration of actual use. Other systems to be developed with the support of the EU’s project will provide a tool to check the availability of a trademark name and make the classification of goods and services easier.
