23-24 August | ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta

Sharing their experience with the implementation of policies and guidelines on data sharing, confidentiality, and dissemination of ASEAN statistics, participants from ASEAN member states convened at the ASEAN Secretariat for a workshop organised by the EU’s COMPASS project. Discussing issues like data exchanges between governmental organizations, non-disclosure of individual outcomes, corrections on published statistics, pricing of publications, and submission of regional outcomes to international organizations, helps ASEAN move towards a more harmonised statistical system. Participants of the workshop put together a comprehensive set of recommendations for the ASEAN Community Statistical System (ACSS). Applicable at the national and regional level, these will be submitted for endorsement by the ACSS Committee in November.
